The 2024/25 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) semifinals are set to kick off this weekend, as four of Europe’s most dominant clubs — Barcelona, Chelsea, Lyon, and Arsenal — battle for a coveted spot in the May 24 final in Portugal.
With two WSL powerhouses in the mix and European giants Lyon and Barcelona returning to familiar territory, the stage is set for one of the most anticipated semifinal rounds in recent UWCL history.
First-leg fixtures begin Saturday, April 19, and stream live on DAZN.

Arsenal will host eight-time UWCL champions Olympique Lyonnais in front of a projected crowd of over 40,000 fans— a major moment for a club still chasing its first European title since 2007.
"Playing at the Emirates, and the hunger and the belief that we have as a team at the moment, we're going to go and play our game to the best we can," said Arsenal manager Renée Slegers.

Lyon midfielder Lindsey Heaps welcomes the intensity of the matchup:
"You always want these kind of crowds and this kind of atmosphere. Even if it's against you, it's the best thing in the world."
Heaps also spoke to the unpredictability of high-pressure ties:
"The coolest thing about big tournaments and high-stake games is you might be expecting something, and you get something completely different. That's when you see the best teams come out, and they're able to adjust."
