AC Milan 5-1 Cagliari: Pulisic leads the way as Rossoneri thump visitors to return to winning ways

AC Milan ended a six-game winless streak in all competitions with a crushing 5-1 Serie A win over relegation-threatened Cagliari on Saturday.

The victory brings Stefano Pioli's team closer to securing second place. They have 74 points, seven ahead of third-placed Bologna, who defeated Napoli earlier in the day, and eight ahead of Juventus, who face Salernitana on Sunday.

Ismael Bennacer opened the scoring after 35 minutes, pouncing on a loose ball in the centre of the box, before Christian Pulisic extended their lead after a quick break in the 59th minute.

Cagliari's Nahitan Nandez pulled one back in the 63rd minute, but Tijjani Reijnders scored Milan's third goal with a superb long-range effort in the 74th.

Rafael Leao scored seven minutes from time, and Pulisic sealed the victory three minutes later with his second of the night and 12th league goal of the season.
