Adam Zampa stars as Australia knock defending champions England out of World Cup

Australia's bowlers successfully defended 286 to end England's qualification hopes and strengthen their grip on a top-four spot at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
Australia were bowled out for 286 after a shaky batting performance, with Marnus Labuschagne top-scoring with 71 under the hot afternoon sun in Ahmedabad.
However, a superb bowling performance denied England a morale-boosting victory, with Adam Zampa shining once more to become the tournament's leading wicket-taker.
In another disappointing performance from the defending champions, Dawid Malan (50), Ben Stokes (64) and Moeen Ali (42) were the standout batters, but Zampa's extraordinary figures of 3/21 helped tie England in knots.
Australia's victory puts them one step closer to the semi-finals, while England's sixth defeat effectively eliminates them from contention to finish in the top four.
