Ajax set sights on Go Ahead Eagles' Oliver Edvardsen for a winter transfer move

Ajax is reportedly interested in acquiring Oliver Edvardsen, a 25-year-old forward from Go Ahead Eagles, as part of their efforts to bolster their offensive lineup, according to Dutch media sources.
Tim van Duijn from Voetbal International shared this information on Wednesday evening, just a day prior to Ajax's final league match in the Europa League against the prominent Turkish club Galatasaray.
Edvardsen has made a significant impact in the Eredivisie, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists in only 14 league appearances for the high-flying Go Ahead Eagles. Van Duijn indicated that negotiations between Ajax and Go Ahead Eagles are already at an advanced stage regarding the Norwegian winger.
The seventh-placed Go Ahead Eagles are expected to receive €3 million for Edvardsen, whose contract is set to expire this summer.
Ajax has been facing challenges with limited depth in their attacking options, with Belgian talent Mika Godts being the sole natural left winger in the squad. This situation has prompted technical director Alex Kroes to actively seek reinforcements.
Following the collapse of a potential transfer for Spanish winger Raul Moro from Real Valladolid earlier this month due to a serious injury, Ajax has also been in discussions with Wolverhampton Wanderers about possibly terminating the loan of Portuguese winger Carlos Forbs at the Premier League club.
Currently, Ajax occupies the second position in the Dutch Eredivisie, holding 44 points, which places them four points behind leaders PSV, although they have a game in hand.
