Al-Hilal defeat Al-Nassr to advance to Saudi Super Cup final as Ronaldo sees red

Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off late in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final against city rivals Al-Hilal, which ended in a 2-1 defeat in Abu Dhabi.

Portugal's record scorer was shown a straight red card four minutes from time for elbowing an opponent with his team trailing 2-0 before they scored a late consolation.

Jorge Jesus' Al-Hilal took the lead in the 62nd minute when Salem Al-Dawsari converted a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic flick following a quick break.

Brazilian forward Malcolm doubled the lead in the 72nd minute with a fine header after Michael's long cross from the right found his compatriot unguarded in the centre of the box.

Sadio Mane, a former Liverpool forward, scored for Al-Nassr in stoppage time after being set up by Abdulrahman Ghareeb.

Al-Hilal will seek a record-extending fourth title in Thursday's final against Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad, who defeated Al-Wehda 2-1 in the previous semi-final on Monday.
