Organizers announced on Wednesday that Andre Agassi, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, will take on the role of Team World Captain for the Laver Cup starting next year.

Agassi, a former world number one and coach to Novak Djokovic, will assume his position at the 2025 Laver Cup in San Francisco.

In a statement, Agassi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "I am truly honored to accept the invitation to become the Laver Cup Team World Captain

." He acknowledged the high level of competition in the Laver Cup and emphasized the importance of understanding and managing the players' needs throughout the year.

Agassi aims to build strong relationships with the team members in order to strategically select matchups that will increase their chances of victory.

Agassi will be replacing fellow American John McEnroe, who has served as Team World Captain since the inception of the tournament.

McEnroe, expressing his support for Agassi, said, "I want to congratulate Andre on becoming the next Team World Captain, I know he is the right man for the job." McEnroe also shared his love for the Laver Cup and pledged his support for Agassi and Team World.
