Antonio Conte delighted with Napoli's hard-fought win over Fiorentina

Napoli secured a well-deserved victory against Fiorentina on Sunday, with manager Antonio Conte expressing satisfaction regarding his team's management of the match, particularly after conceding a goal shortly after establishing a 2-0 lead. However, he emphasized the need for greater decisiveness in their attacking play.

Inter Milan's 3-2 triumph over Monza on Saturday had created a four-point lead at the top of the standings, but Conte's squad narrowed that margin to one point following their 2-1 victory at home, where Napoli appeared in control throughout the match.

"I am very pleased with the team's performance and their response," Conte stated to the media. "In a growth path, it is normal that after creating so much for 60-65 minutes and getting to 2-0, conceding a goal can generate excessive anxiety.

"You have to be good at managing it, cooling the moment and keeping the ball more, continuing to do things in the right way without conceding dangerous situations. The boys did well, I'm happy."

Napoli exhibited a commanding performance, particularly during the first half, highlighted by Romelu Lukaku scoring from a rebound, although they squandered numerous additional opportunities.

"We played cautiously, and the victory is well-deserved based on our chances created," Conte remarked. "We scored less than we produced and this does not satisfy me, because in certain games you dominate the opponent and you cannot go to halftime only at 1-0.

One single episode can result in a loss of points.

Napoli is surprisingly contending for the league title this season, despite having sold their star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January. The team is currently also missing the injured Andre Anguissa and David Neres.

"I must emphasize that the team normalizes what is not normal," Conte remarked. "Injured players are missing, it's normal, our best player leaves, it's normal. "The guys are doing a great job in finding alternative solutions, next time have confidence and let me do things without saying to play with 4-3-3 or anything else. "It's easy to win the bet when you place it after the event."
