Arne Slot emphasises quality Mohamed Salah the difference-maker for Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot (46) emphasised the crucial impact of quality players like Mohamed Salah (32) in important matches, after the Egypt international scored a late goal that secured a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Salah, who indicated last month that he might depart Liverpool at the end of the season, also contributed to last weekend's 2-1 victory over Chelsea, having scored the decisive penalty at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"One of the characteristics of elite players is their consistent availability and ability to perform in crucial moments," Slot stated to the media.

"For a prominent club like ours, as well as Arsenal, possessing such quality players is essential; without them, achieving favorable results becomes quite challenging."

Salah, who shares the record with Robbie Fowler as the eighth-highest goalscorer in Premier League history with 163 goals, has netted six times in the league this season. He has been instrumental in five of Liverpool's seven league victories.

"It is imperative for a club to have players capable of making a significant impact, and Mo exemplified that today in an offensive capacity," Slot continued.

Liverpool currently holds 22 points from nine matches, trailing leaders Manchester City by one point.

This week, Slot's squad is set to face Brighton twice, first away in the League Cup on Wednesday, followed by a home league match on Saturday.
