Arsenal's Saka & Martinelli hand Arteta fitness boost for Brentford match

Manager Mikel Arteta has stated that Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are expected to feature in the squad for Arsenal's upcoming match against Brentford on Saturday.

During Monday's 6-0 victory at Sheffield United, both forwards were replaced. Martinelli sustained a cut, while Saka was feeling unwell.

Arteta expressed optimism that they would be able to participate in future matches, but emphasized the need to assess their conditions.

Currently, Arsenal holds the third position in the Premier League with 61 points, trailing behind Liverpool by two points.

Liverpool will face Manchester City, who are second in the table with 62 points, on Sunday. Arteta stressed the importance of Arsenal maintaining their own momentum rather than fixating on the results of their title rivals.

He stated that their focus should be on winning their own games. Arteta also expressed his excitement for the upcoming match between Liverpool and Manchester City, considering it a spectacle for all supporters.

He mentioned that he would enjoy watching the game with his children. Reflecting on their previous encounter with Brentford in November,

Arteta acknowledged the challenges they pose and mentioned that Arsenal has historically struggled against them.
