AS Roma 5-0 Parma: Dybala at the double as Giallorossi hit visitors for five

Paulo Dybala's brace propelled AS Roma to a commanding 5-0 triumph over Parma at the Stadio Olimpico, marking an impressive extension of their unbeaten away streak in head-to-head encounters to 21 matches (17 wins, 4 draws).

In their first clash since March 2021, when Parma secured a 2-0 victory, Roma quickly asserted their dominance by scoring twice within the first 15 minutes, avenging their previous defeat against the bewildered visitors.

Dybala initiated the scoring by converting a penalty after being fouled by Botond Balogh, and just five minutes later, Alexis Saelemaekers increased the Giallorossi's advantage with a spectacular volley from the back post.

Although Parma struggled to gain a foothold, they nearly reduced the deficit in the 19th minute. However, Mile Svilar's fingertips and the crossbar thwarted Hernani's powerful long-range shot, denying the travelling Parmigiani fans a moment of celebration.

Emanuele Valeri soon tested Svilar again, but like his teammate, he was left disappointed as his attempt was expertly saved.

Stephan El Shaarawy had a golden opportunity to secure the match just before half-time, yet he could only direct his shot into a position where Zion Suzuki could easily make the save.

However, Roma quickly extended their lead after the break, albeit through a stroke of luck. Saelemaekers' initial shot deflected off Artem Dovbyk, landing perfectly for Dybala, who simply guided the ball into the net from close range.

Drissa Camara nearly salvaged some pride for Parma with a long-range effort that hit the woodwork, but Roma ruthlessly added a fourth goal in the 74th minute, as Leandro Paredes confidently converted their second penalty of the match after Valentin Mihăilă fouled Saelemaekers.

Dovbyk concluded an exceptional team display nine minutes later by scoring from a short distance, marking only the second victory for Roma in their last ten league matches (L7) and propelling the Giallorossi to 11th place in the league standings.

In contrast, Parma has managed only one win away from home this season (D4, L3), placing them 16th and leaving them just one point above the relegation zone for the time being.
