AS Roma sack Jose Mourinho with club languishing in ninth

Roma have officially confirmed their decision to part ways with manager Jose Mourinho due to a recent string of disappointing results, which has resulted in the club's current position of ninth in Serie A.
Jose Mourinho took charge of Roma in 2021, shortly after his departure from Tottenham. He had a successful first season, leading the team to their first trophy in 11 years by winning the Conference League.
However, in his second season, Roma faced difficulties in the league and lost to Sevilla in the Europa League final. These struggles created tensions between Mourinho and the board, which have only intensified this season as the team's form worsened.
In response to the situation, AS Roma announced that Mourinho and his coaching staff will be leaving the club immediately. The club also stated that updates regarding the new First Team coaching staff will be provided soon.
Roma's recent performance has been disappointing, with only four points earned from their last five league matches and elimination from the Coppa Italia after a 1-0 defeat to rivals Lazio.
After the defeat, Mourinho compared himself to Harry Potter, suggesting that his presence at the club raised fans' expectations for success. He defended himself against critics, emphasizing his professionalism despite the team's recent poor results.
The club owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, expressed their gratitude to Mourinho for his passion and efforts during his time at AS Roma.
However, they believe that an immediate change is necessary for the best interests of the club. They wished Mourinho and his assistants the best in their future endeavors.
