Ashes 2025-26: Perth to host Series Opener from November 21

Perth has been designated to host the inaugural Test of the 2025/26 Ashes series, as announced on Wednesday, marking the conclusion of Brisbane's nearly 40-year tradition of opening the Australia-England series.
The English team will commence their quest to reclaim the historic Ashes urn at Perth Stadium on November 21, 2025. Following this, the second Test, which will be a day-night match, is scheduled to take place at Brisbane's Gabba, according to Cricket Australia.
A Test match prior to Christmas will occur in Adelaide, followed by the customary Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the New Year Test in Sydney.
This will be the inaugural Ashes Test held at the new Perth Stadium, which has replaced the former WACA ground, the last of which was utilized in 2017.
Perth Stadium will become the eighth venue in Australia to host an Ashes Test, a rivalry that has its origins dating back to 1882.
The Gabba in Brisbane, which has been the venue for the first Test of every Ashes series in Australia since 1986, will illuminate its floodlights for the second Test commencing on December 4.
Joel Morrison, the executive general manager of events and operations at Cricket Australia, stated that the schedule was released early due to the overwhelming interest from traveling supporters eager to arrange their travel and accommodations.
