Atletico Madrid to host Real Madrid in blockbuster Copa del Rey last 16 clash

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid will be looking to forget about their defeat in last season's quarter-final against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

They will be optimistic about their chances, considering they handed Real their only loss this season with a 3-1 victory when they played at the Metropolitano in late September.

Since then, Real Madrid, who are currently leading LaLiga with 48 points, have won 15 out of 19 games in all competitions. They have only dropped points in the league on three occasions.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid has been struggling with inconsistent results and currently sits in fifth place, 10 points behind the leaders.

In the last 16 draw, Atletico Madrid will face Real Madrid, setting up an exciting clash between the two Madrid rivals. Barcelona, who are currently third in LaLiga, will be traveling to play against Unionistas, a fourth division team.
