ATP roundup: Andy Murray nets 500th career hard-court win, Draper stuns Paul

Andy Murray, a three-time major champion, achieved a significant milestone in his career by securing his 500th victory on hard court. He emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Canadian player Denis Shapovalov, with a final score of 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, during the opening round of the Dubai Tennis Championships held on Monday.
Murray, who has now joined the 500 club alongside Federer, Djokovic, Agassi, and Nadal, hinted at a possible retirement in a post-match interview. The 36-year-old expressed that he may not have much time left but will give his best in the remaining months.
Andrey Rublev, the second seed from Russia, came back to defeat China's Zhizhen Zhang 6-7, 6-2, 6-4. Meanwhile, Polish third seed Hubert Hurkacz outlasted German Jan-Lennard Struff 7-6, 6-7, 7-6.
Seventh seed Alexander Bublik also required three sets to defeat Czech qualifier Tomas Machac 2-6, 6-3, 7-6, and Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp upset sixth seed Adrian Mannarino 7-6, 7-5.
American Sebastian Korda dominated Russia's Pavel Kotov 6-0, 6-2 in just 54 minutes, while Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands was leading 7-5, 2-0 when Jordanian opponent Abdullah Shelbayh retired.
Facundo Diaz Acosta, the sixth seed, emerged victorious in an all-Argentine first-round encounter at Santiago, Chile. After a grueling three-hour and eight-minute battle, Diaz Acosta staged a remarkable comeback, clinching a 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 victory on the clay court.
In the decisive third-set tiebreaker, he displayed exceptional resilience by winning the last five points. Despite Pedro Cachin having 18 opportunities to break Diaz Acosta's serve, he could only convert three of them.
Meanwhile, another Argentine player, Federico Coria, secured a comfortable 6-1, 7-6 triumph over Slovakia's Alex Molcan. In a surprising turn of events, French qualifier Corentin Moutet caused an upset by defeating the seventh-seeded Roberto Carballes Baena with a convincing scoreline of 6-3, 7-5, 6-2.
Additionally, Pedro Martinez from Spain overcame Italy's Francesco Passaro with a solid performance, prevailing with a score of 6-4, 6-1.
