ATP roundup: Djokovic claims Hellenic Championship but withdraws from Nitto ATP Finals with injury

Top seed Novak Djokovic mounted a comeback to secure the Hellenic Championship title on Saturday in Athens, Greece, temporarily preventing No. 2 seed Lorenzo Musetti from earning qualification to the Nitto ATP Finals.
Nevertheless, the 38-year-old Djokovic announced through a social media statement following the match that a persistent shoulder injury would prevent his participation in the season-ending championship scheduled to commence Sunday in Turin, Italy. Musetti, who required a tournament victory to surpass Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the standings, now claims the eighth and final berth at the ATP Finals.
The Serbian superstar captured his 101st career championship with a hard-fought 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 triumph in just under three hours. Djokovic exchanged service breaks with the Italian competitor in the 10th and 11th games of the deciding set before sealing the victory with a love hold. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has captured the ATP Finals crown seven times throughout his illustrious career but also sat out the 2024 edition due to injury concerns.
Learner Tien secures maiden ATP Tour title at Moselle Open
American teenager Learner Tien captured his maiden ATP Tour championship with an exhilarating 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (6) triumph over No. 7 seed Cameron Norrie of Great Britain in Metz, France.
The 19-year-old sensation delivered seven aces and rescued seven of nine break point opportunities to prevail in two hours and 10 minutes. His only prior final appearance resulted in defeat against World No. 1 Jannik Sinner at the China Open in September.
Norrie mounted a spirited recovery from a 4-1 disadvantage during the final set to force the tiebreak, where Tien reversed the momentum by surging back from a 5-1 deficit and clinching the trophy on his second match point opportunity.
