No. 6 seed Jack Draper of Great Britain racked up 31 aces and rallied to defeat No. 4 seed Frances Tiafoe 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (1) on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Boss Open in Stuttgart, Germany.

Draper committed only three double faults while smashing his dominant serves past Tiafoe, the defending champion. The aces enabled Draper to win 53 of 62 first-service points (85.5 percent), including 18 of 19 in the second set.

Draper will face another American, Brandon Nakashima, who advanced via walkover after seventh seed Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany withdrew.

The other semifinal will pit fifth-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti against Matteo Berrettini. Berrettini defeated Australian James Duckworth, 6-4, 7-5. Musetti led 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 when Kazakhstan's third seed, Alexander Bublik, retired.
