ATP Roundup: Nicolas Jarry Eliminates Swedish Favourite Elias Ymer in Stockholm

Fifth-seeded Nicolas Jarry (29) successfully overcame a match point at the BNP Paribas Nordic Open, defeating Sweden's Elias Ymer (28) with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(7) in Stockholm on Tuesday.
Despite committing 54 unforced errors compared to 28 winners, Jarry managed to secure the victory, enduring Ymer's 12 aces and initially falling behind by a set. After Jarry was unable to convert a 6-5 advantage in the third-set tie-break, Ymer took a 7-6 lead and served for the match. However, Jarry rallied to clinch the final three points.
In the second round, the Chilean will face Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia, who defeated Great Britain's Cameron Norrie with a score of 6-4, 6-4. British qualifier Jacob Fearnley achieved his first ATP Tour hard-court victory by overcoming Corentin Moutet of France, winning 6-2, 7-6(5).
Also advancing are Frenchman Alexandre Muller and Serbia's Laslo Djere, who will next compete against fourth seed Tommy Paul, the 2021 champion in Stockholm.
At the European Open, fifth-seeded Jiri Lehecka triumphed over Spain's Jaume Munar with a score of 6-1, 6-4 in Antwerp, Belgium, marking his second first-round victory against Munar within a span of 10 days, having previously defeated him at the Rolex Shanghai Masters.
In other matches, eighth seed Marcos Giron celebrated his 100th ATP Tour win, losing only two points on his first serve against Botic van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands, winning 6-4, 6-1.
