ATP roundup: Tsitsipas defeats Sonego, Garin triumphs on home soil

Fourth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas (26) achieved a victory over Italian Lorenzo Sonego (29) in the first round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Monday, winning with scores of 7-6 (4), 6-3 and successfully converting 81 percent of his first serve points.
In a notable comeback, Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut (36) triumphed over Hungary's Fabian Marozsan (25) with a scoreline of 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4), marking the only three-set match of the day.
Other players who secured victories in straight sets included Alexei Popyrin (25) from Australia, Russia's Karen Khachanov (28), Belgium's Zizou Bergs (25), and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (21) from France.
At the Movistar Chile Open, Cristian Garin (28) delighted his local supporters by overcoming Argentine qualifier Juan Pablo Ficovich (28) with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round held in Santiago, Chile.
Despite converting only three of his 16 break-point opportunities, Garin managed to dominate with a total of 9 aces to 3.
In other first-round matches, qualifier Gustavo Heide (22) defeated Thiago Seyboth Wild (24) in an all-Brazilian contest with a score of 7-5, 6-2.
