Barcelona 3-0 Osasuna: Barca cruise past visitors to go three points clear at LaLiga summit

Barcelona established a three-point lead at the top of LaLiga after securing a 3-0 victory against Osasuna in their rescheduled match at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, extending their unbeaten streak in competitive play to 19 games.
The scheduling of this match was met with controversy, and Barcelona's lineup featured some significant absences due to the proximity to the conclusion of the international break.
Despite the absence of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski from the starting lineup, a reshuffled Barcelona quickly took control of the game, scoring within the first 15 minutes. Ferran Torres capitalized on a well-executed team move, converting Alejandro Balde’s dangerous cross from close range.
The hosts nearly doubled their lead shortly thereafter when Dani Olmo was brought down in the penalty area by Sergio Herrera. The Osasuna goalkeeper initially atoned for his mistake by saving Olmo's penalty, but due to an Osasuna defender's encroachment, Olmo was granted another opportunity, which he successfully converted into the bottom corner.
The first half was predominantly dominated by Barcelona, who could have increased their lead to three goals before halftime, had Torres’ free-kick not struck the crossbar five minutes before the break.
Osasuna struggled to create chances in the first half, but they nearly found a way back into the match just two minutes after the restart when Jorge Herrando's header narrowly missed the target from six yards out.
Pablo Torre, who came on at halftime, almost sealed the game for Barcelona shortly after, but his shot went just wide of the goal from the ensuing goal-kick.
To eliminate any possibility of an Osasuna comeback, Hansi Flick brought Lewandowski onto the field, and his presence proved decisive as he scored with a header from Fermín López’s cross, completing a swift counterattack and effectively ending the contest.
While keeping an eye on the upcoming match against Girona on Sunday, the Catalan club was able to ease their intensity from that point forward.
This win allows them to establish a three-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid, while a seven-point advantage over Atlético Madrid effectively narrows the title competition to just two teams.
Osasuna's season hangs in the balance, as they find themselves only six points clear of the relegation zone with ten matches left to play.
