Barcelona 3-0 Rayo Vallecano: Pedri double seals second spot for Blaugrana

Barcelona defeated Rayo Vallecano 3-0 in their final home game of the season on Sunday, securing second place in LaLiga thanks to an early goal by Robert Lewandowski and a quick double from Pedri.
Barcelona now have 82 points, four more than Girona, whi won 3-1 away to Valencia. Champions Real Madrid lead Barcelona by 12 points with one round of games remaining.
Barcelona took the lead in the third minute when Lamine Yamal cut in from the right wing and chipped the ball to Lewandowski, who expertly controlled the pass with his chest before volleying home.
Although Rayo had chances to equalise, Barcelona doubled their lead with some magical footwork from Joao Felix, who saw his shot saved but Pedri scored from the rebound to give the home team a two-goal advantage.
Barely three minutes later, Pedri spotted a gap in Rayo's high defensive line and was set up by centre back Ronald Araujo's long ball, allowing the 21-year-old to double his season goal tally.
Barcelona will finish the season away to Sevilla next weekend, while Rayo, who are 16th, will host Athletic Bilbao.
