Barcelona 7-1 Valencia: Barca rout Los Ches to end winless streak

Barcelona roared back to form in LaLiga with a commanding 7-1 triumph over Valencia on Sunday, ending their four-match winless streak in style. Fermin Lopez delivered a stellar performance, netting twice and providing two assists in the emphatic win.

The victory keeps Barcelona third in the LaLiga standings with 42 points, trailing second-placed Atletico Madrid by three and leaders Real Madrid by seven. Meanwhile, Valencia remains in relegation trouble, sitting 19th with 16 points after suffering their first defeat in five matches across all competitions.

Barcelona wasted no time asserting dominance at the Camp Nou. Frenkie de Jong opened the scoring just three minutes in with a precise right-footed strike into the bottom corner, thanks to an inch-perfect cross from Lamine Yamal.

De Jong continued to shine, setting up the second goal with a brilliant pass to Alejandro Balde, whose assist allowed Ferran Torres to slot home.

The third goal came swiftly, with Raphinha capitalizing on a mistake by Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. The Brazilian coolly finished into an open net after Mamardashvili misjudged his positioning.

Fermin Lopez stole the spotlight with two spectacular goals in the first half. He struck Barcelona's fourth in the 24th minute and added a fifth before halftime with a powerful long-range effort.

"We were coming from a bad dynamic in LaLiga, and we needed this win," Lopez told DAZN. "I needed a game like this. I've had a lot of injuries, and it was important to gain confidence."

Hugo Duro scored Valencia's only goal early in the second half, a close-range finish that provided little consolation. Barcelona, however, maintained their momentum.

Substitute Robert Lewandowski added a sixth before Valencia's Cesar Tarrega scored an own goal to complete the 7-1 rout.

Barcelona's dominant display comes just days after their thrilling 5-4 victory over Benfica secured a place in the Champions League’s last 16. Up next, they face Atalanta in a crucial league-phase match of Europe’s elite competition on Wednesday.

This resounding win serves as a confidence booster for Hansi Flick's squad as they aim to close the gap in the LaLiga title race.
