Barcelona fined 25,000 euros by UEFA for fans' racist behaviour in Paris

UEFA has imposed a fine of 25,000 euros on Barcelona for the racist conduct exhibited by their fans during the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

Following the incident, two supporters were questioned by the police. In addition to the fine, Barcelona has been prohibited from selling tickets to their fans for their upcoming away European game.

However, this punishment has been suspended for a year. Barcelona ultimately lost the tie with a 6-4 aggregate score after PSG emerged victorious in the second leg with a 4-1 win.

On April 10th, Paris police confirmed that they had interrogated two individuals after videos surfaced on social media showing one supporter making monkey noises and another making Nazi salutes at the Parc des Princes.

UEFA stated, "The UEFA Appeals Body has decided to fine FC Barcelona 25,000 euros and to ban FC Barcelona from selling tickets to its away supporters for its next UEFA competition match, for the racist behaviour of its supporters."

Furthermore, they clarified that the ban on ticket sales to away supporters is temporarily suspended for a probationary period of one year, commencing from the date of the current decision.
