Bellingham Shines as Real Madrid Ends Girona's Unbeaten Streak with a 3-0 Win

Real Madrid secured a dominant 3-0 away victory over Girona in La Liga on Saturday, ending Girona's unbeaten streak and taking the top spot in the league standings.

Girona had been in excellent form, boasting a six-game winning streak that had propelled them to the top of the standings, a historic achievement for the club.

Jude Bellingham played a pivotal role in Real Madrid's win, contributing a brilliant assist for Joselu Mato's 17th-minute opener. Shortly after, Aurélien Tchouaméni scored to double the lead, and Bellingham himself completed the scoring with his league-leading sixth goal of the season.

Bellingham's fantastic pass to Joselu was a standout moment, showcasing his creativity and vision. He revealed that he had been studying his teammate Luka Modric's playstyle and that the pass was inspired by the Croatian maestro.

Real Madrid's victory pushed them past both Girona and Barcelona to claim the top spot in the La Liga standings, leading Barcelona by one point and Girona by two.

Girona started the match with momentum and threatened to score within the first five minutes, with Yangel Herrera heading over the bar and Artem Dovbyk heading off the post. However, Bellingham's assist shifted the tide in Real Madrid's favor.

Tchouaméni added a second goal for Real Madrid in the 21st minute, capitalizing on Toni Kroos' corner kick. Girona had chances to get back in the game but was thwarted by Real Madrid's defense, with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga making key saves.

Bellingham and Joselu combined again in the 71st minute, with Joselu providing the assist for Bellingham's goal during a three-on-two counterattack.

The match ended with a red card for Real Madrid's Nacho Fernández, who was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Girona's Cristian "Portu" Portugués. The foul led to a brief confrontation between players.

Real Madrid's next challenge is a Champions League clash with Napoli on Tuesday. In other La Liga action, Real Sociedad defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in the Basque derby, with goals from Robin Le Normand, Takefusa Kubo, and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Rayo Vallecano secured a 2-2 draw with Mallorca thanks to Radamel Falcao's retaken stoppage-time penalty, and Villarreal managed a 0-0 draw against Getafe despite being reduced to ten men when Álex Baena was sent off with a direct red card for elbowing an opponent.
