Bernd Wiesberger set to make a return to the DP World Tour

After a two-season stint with the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf circuit, Austrian golfer Bernd Wiesberger, aged 38 and an eight-time winner on the European tour, is set to return to the DP World Tour in 2024, as announced by the European tour on Thursday.

Wiesberger made the move to LIV in 2022 but became a free agent after finishing 41st in the individual standings during the 2023 LIV season, resulting in the termination of his contract.

The DP World Tour confirmed that Wiesberger has successfully fulfilled all sanctions imposed on him for participating in the rival tour. In a statement, DP World Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley granted Wiesberger's reinstatement request, following the prescribed procedure outlined in the Members' Regulations.

Expressing his commitment to the DP World Tour, Wiesberger took to social media, stating, "I have never resigned my membership and therefore I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to play a full schedule once again."

This marks a significant development in Wiesberger's professional golf journey, highlighting his eagerness to resume competition within the established DP World Tour framework.
