Bol breaks own 400m indoor world record at Dutch championships

Femke Bol, aged 23, set a new indoor 400-metre world record of 49.24 seconds during the Dutch championships in Apeldoorn.

Bol, who is the reigning double world champion in the 400m hurdles, surpassed her own previous record by two-hundredths of a second.

She had already displayed her excellent form by clocking 49.69 seconds in Metz at the start of the season, followed by an even faster time of 49.63 seconds in Lievin last week.

With her impressive performances, Bol is considered the top contender for the 400m title at the upcoming World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Lieke Klaver also showcased the Netherlands' strength in the event by achieving a personal best time of 50.10 seconds, making her the second fastest indoor performer of the year.
