Bologna 1-1 Atalanta: La Dea score last-gasp goal to snatch point from 10-man hosts

A late goal from Lazar Samardzic secured a hard-earned point for Atalanta against a Bologna side reduced to ten men, extending the Rossoblù’s winless streak in Serie A at home to six matches (D6).

Following an unexpected home loss to Serie A newcomers Como on Tuesday, Atalanta was eager to make a statement early in the match, with Ademola Lookman forcing a smart save from Lukasz Skorupski with a low shot.

As the first half unfolded, Bologna began to find their rhythm, yet clear opportunities were scarce as both defenses remained resolute under pressure.

La Dea appeared more dangerous in the attacking third, and Skorupski was called into action once more, denying a close-range attempt from Marco Brescianini.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad continued to search for a breakthrough before the interval, but substitute Samardzic could only lift a half-chance over the bar, leaving the score level at halftime.

After a disjointed first half, the hosts made an ideal start to the second half, with Santiago Castro executing a superb turn on the edge of the box and curling a precise shot into the far corner just a minute after the restart.

However, the momentum gained from that goal was quickly halted when a careless defensive error by Jhon Lucumi led to a foul on Charles De Ketelaere, resulting in a red card for the Colombian.

With the numerical advantage, Atalanta came close to equalizing when Raoul Bellanova struck the bar with a powerful shot from inside the box.

Determined to avoid a fourth defeat in six Serie A matches this season, La Dea maintained control of possession in their quest for an equalizer, and after several missed opportunities, they finally found the back of the net in the dying moments of regulation time.

Receiving the ball on the edge of the box, Samardzic created space for himself and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the corner, denying the Rossoblù their first home Serie A victory since April.
