Bologna 3-0 Venezia: Ndoye at the double as Rossblu cruises to victory

Dan Ndoye achieved his first Serie A brace, leading Bologna to a decisive 3-0 victory over the struggling Venezia, thereby extending their unbeaten streak at home in the league to 10 matches (W3, D7).

Following two consecutive losses in competitive fixtures, Bologna entered the match with the aim of regaining their winning form against opponents facing relegation threats.

From the outset, the hosts took control, with Remo Freuler forcing Filip Stankovic into an early save, while Ndoye sent another attempt wide of the target. Shortly thereafter, Ndoye was awarded a penalty after being fouled by Ridgeciano Haps in the penalty area.

The Swiss international maintained his composure, sending Stankovic the wrong way to score his first goal of the season. Energized by this opening goal, Bologna sought to extend their lead, with Juan Miranda's ambitious long-range effort requiring a diving save from Stankovic, ensuring the score remained 1-0 at halftime.

The intermission did not disrupt Bologna’s momentum, as Vincenzo Italiano’s team continued to press for a second goal. Jesper Karlsson squandered a prime opportunity, shooting directly at Stankovic after being set up by Jens Odgaard.

Fortunately for Bologna, this miss did not prove detrimental, as they secured a second goal from another penalty. The referee reviewed the incident and confirmed that Jay Idzes had committed a foul on Thijs Dallinga, allowing Riccardo Orsolini to convert the penalty with authority. Orsolini then provided an assist, setting up Ndoye for his second goal of the match.

Ndoye’s goal in the 71st minute sealed Bologna’s fifth league victory of the season, placing them in eighth position, four points shy of the top six. Meanwhile, the winless Venezia remain at the bottom of the table after suffering their fourth consecutive defeat.
