Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Eintracht Frankfurt: Bynoe-Gittens brace gives Dortmund win against Frankfurt

Nuri Sahin commenced his tenure as manager of Borussia Dortmund with an impressive victory, as Jamie Bynoe-Gittens scored a remarkable brace in the second half, leading Die Schwarzgelben to a 2-0 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt, who have now failed to secure a win in their last five Bundesliga away matches.
Following a challenging summer that saw manager Edin Terzic depart despite leading the team to the UEFA Champions League final, Der BVB faced difficulties in the early stages of the match, as several new players made their league debuts in the club's traditional colors.
In contrast, Frankfurt appeared confident, with their new permanent signing Hugo Ekitike, who had recently scored twice in the DFB Pokal, creating significant challenges for the home defense both centrally and on the flanks.
Given that the previous nine encounters at this venue had produced at least four goals in eight instances, the 0-0 scoreline at halftime was unexpected.
Nonetheless, Hugo Larsson demonstrated his intent with a volley that sailed over the bar, while Marcel Sabitzer narrowly missed the target with a flick from Karim Adeyemi’s pass, which was too close to Kevin Trapp.
Sahin, a former elegant defensive midfielder for the club, would have appreciated his team's defensive resilience during the first half.
The departure of Marco Reus was a mixed emotion for Dortmund supporters, yet Julian Brandt proved to be a capable replacement, although he shot over the bar during a threatening start to the second half.
Fans had to wait until the final 20 minutes for the match to come alive, which occurred when Fares Chaibi inexplicably missed an open goal from just a few yards out.
This moment proved crucial, as substitute Bynoe-Gittens swiftly countered, skillfully cutting inside Rasmus Kristensen and curling the ball into the far top corner.
Rather than mounting a response to this opening goal, the visitors appeared disheartened, allowing Dortmund’s earlier hero to secure the victory in stoppage time.
Bynoe-Gittens sprinted down the counter to slot the ball under the trap, achieving a seventh consecutive unbeaten encounter against their Hessen opponents. This was undoubtedly the beginning Sahin had anticipated since his elevation from assistant coach.
Meanwhile, Frankfurt must enhance their away performance if Dino Toppmöller aims to guide his team into the top five in his second season at the helm.
