Borussia Dortmund 2-0 VfL Bochum: Dortmund come from behind to snatch win from struggling Bochum

Borussia Dortmund successfully avoided consecutive Bundesliga defeats for the first time since last November, staging a remarkable comeback from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 4-2 victory against the struggling and winless VfL Bochum.
The home team aimed to respond positively after suffering a heavy 5-1 loss to Stuttgart the previous weekend. They created the first significant opportunity when Pascal Gross delivered a well-placed cross that Karim Adeyemi directed towards goal, only for visiting goalkeeper Patrick Drewes to punch it away. Drewes was soon called into action again, this time deflecting a shot from Julian Brandt.
However, Bochum shocked the crowd at Signal Iduna Park in the 16th minute when Philipp Hofmann and Matus Bero executed a brilliant exchange of passes, culminating in Bero's precise shot into the bottom left corner of Gregor Kobel's goal.
The situation worsened for Kobel shortly thereafter, as he was pressured by Myron Boadu, leading to a deflected ball that fell to Dani de Wit, who calmly finished into the net.
Despite protests claiming that Boadu had impeded Kobel, the goal was allowed to stand. Bochum nearly extended their lead to 3-0 just before the half-hour mark when Boadu, after being set up by Hofmann, inexplicably missed the target from close range.
Dortmund needed to respond swiftly, and after Brandt's attempt went over the bar, he redeemed himself by delivering a cross that Serhou Guirassy headed in, reducing the deficit. Guirassy's third goal in as many matches proved crucial, and as Dortmund resumed play with renewed vigor, he was fouled by former BVB player Felix Passlack. This led to captain Emre Can confidently converting the resulting penalty in the 62nd minute.
Peter Zeidler, the manager of Bochum, promptly introduced Moritz Broschinski, a former player of Dortmund, who made an immediate impact with a shot that was parried away by Kobel.
Both sides were eager to secure all three points, but it was Guirassy who demonstrated the decisive touch by skillfully converting Adeyemi’s through ball.
Substitute Felix Nmecha later eliminated any remaining uncertainties with a long-range effort that slipped under a disheartened Drewes.
After achieving one of their most remarkable comebacks in recent times, Dortmund remains unbeaten in their last six encounters with Bochum and currently occupies the second position in the league table.
Conversely, Bochum may find themselves at the bottom of the standings by the conclusion of this Bundesliga round.
