Boston Celtics defeats the Brooklyn Nets 121-107

In the buildup to their inaugural In-Season Tournament game, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla maintained a business-as-usual approach, treating it as just one of the 82 games on the schedule. However, the Celtics demonstrated a heightened level of intensity on the court.
Jaylen Brown showcased his scoring prowess with 28 points, including five three-pointers, propelling Boston to a decisive 121-107 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Jayson Tatum's double-double performance of 23 points and 10 rebounds played a pivotal role in snapping the Celtics' two-game losing streak and securing a triumph in the tournament opener.
Amidst a learning curve, Brown emphasized the team's ongoing process of building trust and chemistry. The Celtics' bench, previously struggling, rebounded with a notable contribution of 37 points, featuring standout performances from Sam Hauser (15 points) and Payton Pritchard (13 points).
Mazzulla highlighted Pritchard's game-changing impact beyond scoring, emphasizing the intangibles that contribute to the team's success. Lonnie Walker IV led the Nets with 20 points, but Brooklyn fell to 1-1 in East Group C play.
The TD Garden underwent a temporary transformation for the tournament, embracing an NBA-mandated look. Despite the change, the Celtics, buoyed by an energetic crowd, built a substantial lead, reaching a 17-point advantage in the first half with 12 three-pointers.
Brooklyn, missing key players like Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas, displayed resilience with 60 bench points but couldn't overcome Boston's early dominance. The Celtics, now 7-3 in their first ten games, continue to embrace the challenge of improvement, according to guard Jrue Holiday.
