AFCON 2025: BUA Chairman pledges $500,000, goal bonuses to Nigeria's Super Eagles ahead of Morocco clash

Nigeria’s squad has been offered a significant financial incentive ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Morocco after BUA Group chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu announced a cash reward package following their quarter-final victory over Algeria.
Rabiu confirmed that the Nigerian players will receive $500,000 if they defeat tournament hosts Morocco, along with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in the semi-final.
The announcement was made via a message shared on social media, where the Nigerian industrialist congratulated the team for their performance and encouraged them to continue their push toward the title.
Seven-Figure Prize for AFCON Title
Rabiu also outlined an even larger incentive if Nigeria go on to win the tournament. According to his statement, the players would earn $1 million for lifting the trophy, plus $100,000 per goal scored in the final.
The offer is one of the largest private financial incentives announced during the current AFCON tournament.
Nigeria progress after Algeria victory
Nigeria reached the semi-finals after a 2–0 victory over Algeria at the Grand Stade de Marrakech. The West African side took control of the match in the second half, with Victor Osimhen breaking the deadlock shortly after the restart before setting up Akor Adams for the second goal. Osimhen was named man of the match and praised the overall team performance following the win.
