Cagliari 2-2 Juventus: Juve earn a point at Cagliari thanks to late own goal

Juventus salvaged a 2-2 draw at lowly Cagliari in Serie A on Friday thanks to a late own goal by defender Alberto Dossena, after the hosts led 2-0 in the first half thanks to penalties.

The hosts began the match in a dominant fashion, squandering three early opportunities through Zito Luvumbo, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Eldor Shomurodov, all of whom failed to find the back of the net.

Eventually, Eldor Shomurodov managed to test Wojciech Szczesny with a header that was easily saved, while Timothy Weah forced a save from Simone Scuffet with a powerful shot.

Cagliari took the lead after Gianluca Gaetano converted a penalty, awarded for a handball by Gleison Bremer following a VAR review of Alberto Dossena's header.

Just moments later, another penalty was given after Zito Luvumbo was fouled by Wojciech Szczesny, allowing Yerry Mina to score from the spot.

Massimiliano Allegri made changes at halftime, bringing on Kenan Yildiz, but Cagliari continued to dominate, with Matteo Prati's effort saved.

Dusan Vlahovic then scored a stunning free-kick to reduce the deficit, but Juventus struggled to break down Cagliari's defense after they changed formation.

In the end, an own goal by Alberto Dossena from Kenan Yildiz's cross salvaged a draw for Juventus, extending their winless away run to six matches - their longest since 2010.
