Cameroon 1-1 Guinea: Indomitable Lions salvage draw against 10-man Guinea

Cameroon commenced their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) journey by securing a 1-1 draw against 10-man Guinea. Remarkably, Guinea has managed to steer clear of defeat in all of their previous four opening matches in this prestigious tournament.
Guinea were without their star striker Serhou Guirassy due to injury, but it didn't stop them from making a strong start. Valencia defender Mouctar Diakhaby had the first notable opportunity of the game, but his header went over the crossbar.
Cameroon failed to take heed of this warning and paid the price when Mohamed Bayo scored in the 10th minute. Although his initial shot was saved, he made no mistake with the second chance.
Cameroon had a chance to respond immediately through Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, but his header went wide.
Despite Guinea's comfortable performance in the first half, the game took a turn when Francois Kamano was sent off just before halftime for a reckless challenge.
With the numerical advantage, Cameroon quickly equalized in the second half through Frank Magri, who headed in a perfect cross from Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.
However, Cameroon struggled to break through Guinea's defense and failed to capitalize on Magri's goal.
In the end, Guinea held on for a hard-earned point, while Cameroon will be disappointed to miss out on a win despite extending their unbeaten run in the AFCON group stage to 10 matches.
