Canada to hire Jesse Marsch as head coach ahead of Copa America

Canada Soccer announced on Monday that Jesse Marsch, former manager of Leeds United, has been appointed as the new coach of the Canadian men's national team.
With a little over five weeks until their match against Argentina in the Copa America opener, Marsch steps in to replace Mauro Biello, who had been serving as interim coach since John Herdman's departure in August of last year.
The announcement of Marsch's appointment was made by Canada Soccer CEO Kevin Blue in a video that was shared on social media. Blue expressed his excitement and confirmed Marsch as the next head coach of the team.
Marsch, who had been relieved of his duties at Leeds United in February 2023, then joined the call and expressed his gratitude for the trust and belief placed in him.
He assured Blue that he will give his utmost dedication and promised that the team will be something the entire Canadian community can be proud of.
Prior to their Copa America clash against Argentina on June 20th, Canada will be playing friendly matches against the Netherlands on June 6th and France on June 9th.
