End of an Era at Real Madrid
Ancelotti, who returned to Real Madrid for a second spell in 2021, will leave the Bernabeu after Los Blancos’ final LaLiga game of the season against Real Sociedad. Despite winning two La Liga and Champions League doubles since his return, Ancelotti’s final season has ended trophyless, with Real Madrid now trailing seven points behind Barcelona following a dramatic 4-3 El Clasico loss.
Ancelotti's first International role
This marks Ancelotti’s debut as a national team coach, and he also becomes the first-ever foreign permanent manager in Brazil’s storied football history.
“This is the meeting of two global icons,” said the CBF.
“Brazil’s five World Cup titles and Ancelotti’s unrivalled success across Europe signal the start of a new era.”
He will take charge of Brazil’s World Cup qualifying matches against Paraguay and Ecuador in June.
Ancelotti’s Club Success
Ancelotti is the only manager in history to have won league titles in all of Europe’s top five leagues — Spain (Real Madrid), England (Chelsea), Italy (AC Milan), France (PSG), and Germany (Bayern Munich).
Career highlights include:
- 4x UEFA Champions League titles
- League titles in 5 countries
- Domestic and international trophies with 9 different clubs
