Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner through to Miami quarter-finals

Daniil Medvedev, the defending champion of the Miami Open, along with top seed Carlos Alcaraz, both secured spots in the quarter-finals of the tournament on Tuesday through impressive wins.
Medvedev defeated Dominik Koepfer from Germany with a 7-6(5), 6-0 victory, while Alcaraz secured a 6-3, 6-3 win against Lorenzo Musetti from Italy in 85 minutes.
Jannik Sinner, the second seed from Italy, advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Christopher O'Connell from Australia with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
Alcaraz, aiming for the 'Sunshine Double' after his Indian Wells win, outplayed 23rd seed Musetti, despite the Italian putting up a crowd-pleasing performance.
Alcaraz faced a challenging moment during a rally in the second set against Musetti, but ultimately emerged victorious with his strong all-round game.
Looking ahead to the quarterfinals, Alcaraz expressed satisfaction with his performance and form, emphasizing his comfort on the court and overall positive feeling.
Medvedev experienced a shaky beginning filled with unforced errors, falling behind 4-0 in the first set tie-break against his opponent.
Despite this tough start, Medvedev managed to recover and dominated the remaining games, showcasing his comfort with the hard court conditions.
Medvedev suggested that Koepfer struggled to regain his composure after losing the lead in the tie-break, affecting his energy and performance in subsequent sets.
The world number four, Medvedev, is set to face Chilean Nicolas Jarry in the quarterfinals after Jarry's win over Norwegian seventh seed Ruud, displaying strong form and skill despite challenging playing conditions.
On the other hand, Sinner had a more challenging start in his match, trailing 3-1 in the first set against his Australian opponent, but managed to come back, win the set, and secure the match with an improved performance in the second set.
Sinner is set to compete against Czech player Tomas Machac in the upcoming match. Machac advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Italian player Matteo Arnaldi with a score of 6-3, 6-3.
