Carlos Alcaraz pulls out of Monte Carlo Masters due to forearm injury

Carlos Alcaraz, the 20-year-old tennis sensation from Spain, revealed on Tuesday that he will not be participating in the Masters Tournament in Monte Carlo.
For the second consecutive year, Alcaraz will not be participating in the Masters Tournament in Monte Carlo. The Spaniard had to withdraw from the event due to a forearm injury. In a statement posted on Instagram, Alcaraz mentioned that he had been working on his recovery until the last minute, but unfortunately, he was unable to regain full fitness in time to compete.
No specific details regarding the duration of his absence have been provided. During his training sessions with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, Alcaraz wore a special bandage on his right forearm and focused on gentle exercises without a sparring partner.
It is worth noting that Alcaraz has only participated in the Monte Carlo ATP 1000 event once before, being eliminated in the second round in 2022. Last year, he also missed the tournament due to injury.
His scheduled second-round match against Felix Auger-Aliassime will now be played by lucky loser Lorenzo Sonego, who lost in the second qualifying round to Roberto Bautista Agut.
