Celtic triumph over Rangers in penalty shootout to claim League Cup

Celtic emerged victorious in the Scottish League Cup, triumphing over Rangers in a dramatic penalty shootout that concluded 5-4, following a thrilling final that ended 3-3 after extra time at Hampden Park on Sunday.
The match proceeded to penalties after a scoreless extra period, during which Rangers' Ridvan Yilmaz had his shot saved by Kasper Schmeichel, allowing Daizen Maeda to clinch the victory for Celtic.
The kick-off experienced a brief delay due to flares igniting within the stadium, and earlier reports indicated clashes between fans in central Glasgow on the same day.
Nedim Bajrami opened the scoring for Rangers just four minutes before halftime, taking advantage of a rebound to slot the ball into an unguarded net.
Celtic responded strongly in the second half, with Greg Taylor's deflected shot catching goalkeeper Jack Butland off guard in the 56th minute, followed by Maeda's composed finish that put the Premiership leaders ahead just four minutes later.
Rangers equalized in the 75th minute through Mohamed Diomande, who also benefited from a deflected shot. Nicolas Kuhn then appeared to have secured victory for Celtic with a goal three minutes from the end of regular time.
However, Danilo quickly leveled the score for Rangers with a header just 20 seconds after the restart, leading the match into extra time.
