Celtic's held to a Draw by 10-men Atletico Madrid in Scotland

Celtic faced setbacks in their quest for a UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage victory, enduring two equalizing goals in a 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid at Parkhead, extending their 10-year wait.
The passionate atmosphere in Glasgow propelled Celtic into an early lead, displaying a remarkable performance for a team that had previously won only two of their last 28 UCL matches. Matt O’Riley, after receiving the ball at the edge of the area from Kyogo Furuhashi, skillfully set up a goal for the Japanese international, breaking the deadlock within four minutes.
Diego Simeone had to work to calm his Atletico Madrid side in the early stages, and Antoine Griezmann leveled the contest after a warning shot.
Following a foul by Greg Taylor on Nahuel Molina in the box, Griezmann's initial penalty was saved by Joe Hart, but he capitalized on the rebound to hush Celtic Park.
However, the parity didn't last long, as the resurgent hosts quickly regained the lead with a powerful strike from Luis Palma, who was found at the back post by Daizen Maeda.
Celtic pressed to extend their lead, but Jan Oblak denied Matt O'Riley's attempt, and they survived a scare when Axel Witsel's header was disallowed due to a close offside call just before halftime.
Nonetheless, within eight minutes of the second half, Atletico Madrid drew level when Alvaro Morata executed a fantastic stooping header from Marcos Llorente's well-placed cross, eluding Joe Hart's grasp.
Atletico Madrid took control of the game, and Angel Correa missed a golden opportunity to put his team ahead when he fired a low shot directly at Hart. The pendulum continued to swing as Rodrigo De Paul received a second yellow card, resulting in his dismissal and setting the stage for an intense finish in Glasgow.
Celtic applied immense pressure, but they couldn't break through Atletico's defense, leaving them still searching for a UCL group stage victory on home soil after a decade-long drought.
With just one point from three matches, Celtic now faces a challenging task to qualify, while Atletico Madrid's six-match winless streak in UCL away matches continues to hinder their progress, despite holding a top-two position in Group E.
