Chelsea, Bayern Munich Monitoring Arsenal's Ramsdale

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly being monitored by Chelsea and Bayern Munich after being dropped in favor of David Raya during Arsenal's win over Everton. Ramsdale's future has become less certain following his omission from the starting lineup for this match. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that he may rotate goalkeepers and even substitute them during matches, suggesting that Ramsdale still has a role to play at the club.

However, this situation has prompted rival clubs, including Chelsea and Bayern Munich, to keep an eye on Ramsdale's situation, with the belief that Raya could potentially overtake him in the Arsenal pecking order.

Chelsea signed Robert Sánchez and Djordje Petrovic during the summer transfer window but are reportedly open to further strengthening their goalkeeping options. Bayern Munich is also in search of a successor for Manuel Neuer, with Sven Ulreich and newly signed Daniel Peretz as potential alternatives.

Ramsdale, who signed a new four-year contract with Arsenal in May, remains committed to the club. He will be hoping to regain his place in the starting XI when Arsenal faces PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Since joining Arsenal in 2021 from Sheffield United, Ramsdale has established himself as one of the top emerging goalkeepers in Europe. He has made four senior appearances for the England national team and is considered by some to be a strong contender for the No. 1 goalkeeper spot ahead of Jordan Pickford.

Despite his omission from the starting lineup against Everton, there has been some surprise and scrutiny regarding Ramsdale's selection. Nevertheless, there have been internal concerns about his performance at the start of the season, with a save percentage of 55.6% and scrutiny over certain goals conceded.

As it stands, Ramsdale is likely to be part of England's Euro 2024 squad as Pickford's backup, but a lack of playing time could be a concern for England manager Gareth Southgate heading into the tournament. Ramsdale's future at Arsenal may depend on the extent to which his first-team opportunities are limited in the coming months.
