Chelsea eye Leicester boss Maresca as Pochettino replacement

Chelsea are reportedly in talks to appoint Leicester's Enzo Maresca, 44, as their new head coach, according to British media.

Maresca, who was Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City until last year, has guided Leicester back to the Premier League immediately after their relegation last season.

His footballing style has caught the eye of Chelsea's decision-makers, with Sky Sports reporting that the Blues have requested permission from Leicester to speak directly with Maresca, who is believed to be their top choice.

Chelsea are in the market for a new manager following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, who spent just one season at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Frank from Brentford and Kieran McKenna, who led Ipswich to promotion ahead of Leicester, are also reportedly linked with the job.

Pochettino left Chelsea after finishing sixth in the Premier League, earning them a spot in the Europa Conference League but missing out on Champions League qualification and silverware.

Despite losing the League Cup final to Liverpool and the FA Cup semi-final to Manchester City, Chelsea showed promise under Pochettino, ending the season with five consecutive wins.
