Chelsea sign defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on free transfer

Chelsea have completed the signing of 26-year-old centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on a free transfer, as confirmed by the Premier League club on Friday.

Adarabioyo, who will officially join Stamford Bridge on July 1st, has represented England Under-19s once and has accumulated 78 appearances in the Premier League.

This acquisition marks the first signing for Chelsea since the appointment of new head coach Enzo Maresca earlier this week. Adarabioyo's arrival will strengthen their options in the center-back position following the departure of veteran Thiago Silva.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tosin to Chelsea," expressed Chelsea co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.

"Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his maturity and defensive abilities, gaining valuable experience in the Premier League in recent seasons. He is prepared to take the next step at Chelsea and collaborate with the talented players in our squad. We eagerly anticipate Tosin joining us for pre-season."

After finishing sixth in the standings last season, Chelsea aims to rejuvenate their fortunes under Maresca's guidance.

"I am excited to begin working with Enzo, and I'm certain the rest of the team feels the same way," Adarabioyo stated.

"It promises to be an exhilarating journey. We will play attractive football and achieve numerous victories. This squad boasts exceptional players, and I am eager to play alongside each and every one of them."
