China Open Day 4 Roundup: Sabalenka, Swiatek advance, Jabuer knocked out.

Aryna Sabalenka had to work hard to beat Katie Boulter and advance to the last 16 of the China Open. British No. 1 Boulter created 12 break-point opportunities but only converted twice as she failed to take Sabalenka beyond two sets.

Boulter passed up eight break points at 5-5 in the first set and was then broken in the next game to drop the set. Boulter broke late in the second set but was unable to serve out the set, and Sabalenka won 7-5 7-6(2).

Sabalenka will play world No. 36 Jasmine Paolini in the next round.

Coco Gauff defeated Petra Martic in three sets, while world No. 2 Iga Swiatek defeated Varvara Gracheva 6-4, 6-1.

Gauff appeared to be in trouble after falling behind a break twice in the deciding set, but she recovered to win 7-5 5-7 7-6(2).

Jessica Pegula came back from a set down to defeat world No. 39 Anna Blinkova. Pegula lost the first set in a tie-breaker after coming back from a break down twice.

In the second set, the American came back with two breaks to tie the match.
Pegula held to love for 1-1 in the third set and then reeled off five games in a row to secure her place in the round of 16.

Pegula's next opponent is Jelena Ostapenko, who received a walkover in the previous round after opponent Linda Noskova withdrew.

Elena Rybakina defeated Tatjana Maria 7-5, 6-0. Caroline Garcia defeated Yulia Putintseva 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, while Ons Jabeur fell to Marta Kostyuk 7-6(5), 6-1.
