Clippers steamroll the Spurs in 40-pt blowout win

Kawhi Leonard scored 21 points in 28 minutes to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 123-83 victory over the visiting San Antonio Spurs in rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama's first road game.
Paul George and Russell Westbrook each scored 19 points for the Clippers, who improved to 2-0 at home after a two-point loss on the road to the Utah Jazz on Friday.
Bones Hyland had 18 points and Ivica Zubac had 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field. Zubac and Westbrook each had eight rebounds.
Devin Vassell scored just two of his 14 points in the second half, and Cedi Osman added 12 for the Spurs, who went 1-1 at home before playing on an opponent's court for the first time this season. Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, scored 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting.
Wembanyama and the Spurs now have a pair of road games this week against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.
The Clippers got off to a fast start, taking a 14-point lead in the first quarter and leading 23-17 at the half. Los Angeles led at halftime, 56-37, thanks to 48.9 percent shooting from Leonard and George, who combined for 25 points.
The Spurs' second-half performance did not improve, as they trailed by as many as 34 points in the third quarter and never threatened in the fourth.
