Club Brugge bounce back to beat Sturm Graz in brave Champions League display

Sturm's struggles at home were evident, having secured only five victories in their last 25 European matches, making it unsurprising that they were behind at halftime.
However, the manner in which the opening goal was scored was unexpected, as Christos Tzolis expertly placed the ball into the top-right corner of the net from the far-left side of the penalty area.
This goal was a deserved reward for Brugge, who controlled the game against their Austrian rivals before and after the only goal of the first half.
Aware of their poor performance at the Merkur Arena, Sturm recognized that the scoreline could have been more unfavorable.
A tactical double substitution by manager Christian Ilzer around the hour mark shifted the dynamics of the match.
One of the substitutes, Tomi Horvat, nearly made an instant impact with a vigorous run that created a crossing opportunity.
Unfortunately for Horvat, his delivery was comfortably handled by Simon Mignolet.

Tochi Chukwuani also came close for the home team, but his header narrowly missed the far-left post.
Following this, Sturm continued to struggle with their finishing in the final third, while at the other end, Michał Skoras' cross-cum-shot went astray, evading both his Brugge teammates and the goalpost.
Eventually, the Graz team managed to register their first shot on target through Niklas Geyrhofer, but their attempts were ultimately insufficient, leaving them with two losses in as many matches in this season's UCL.
