Coco Gauff reaches Auckland quarters, Emma Raducanu defeated in three sets

Raducanu initially won the first set and held a 3-1 lead in the second set tie-break, but Svitolina fought back and forced a decisive third set. Svitolina raised her level of play in the third set, ultimately securing the victory and setting up a match against Marie Bouzkova.
Meanwhile, at the Brisbane International, Jelena Ostapenko, a former French Open champion, defeated Karolina Pliskova 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals. Ostapenko quickly won the first set but faced a resilient Pliskova who managed to claim the second set.
Ostapenko expressed frustration when missing crucial points but emphasized her fighting spirit and desire for perfection, despite acknowledging that perfection is not always attainable.
In another match, two-time champion Victoria Azarenka defeated Clara Burel 7-5, 6-2. Azarenka initially took a commanding 4-1 lead in the first set, but Burel fought back to level the score. Azarenka recognized Burel's strong performance, particularly her impressive passing shots and counter-attacks, which posed a challenge for Azarenka.
Despite the tough competition, Azarenka remained aggressive and managed to secure the victory.
In another match, Elena Rybakina, ranked fourth in the world, dominated Elise Mertens with a resounding 6-1, 6-0 victory. Additionally, the skilled young player Mirra Andreeva effortlessly defeated Arina Rodionova with a score of 6-1, 6-1.
