Cole Palmer wins September EPL Player of the Month award

Chelsea's rising star, Cole Palmer, has been crowned the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024, following a series of exceptional performances that showcased his growing influence in the Premier League.

The official announcement on Friday confirmed that Palmer, 22, led the league in both goals and goal involvements during September, netting five goals and providing one assist in just four appearances.

His standout moment came in Chelsea’s dominant 6-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, where Palmer set a Premier League record by becoming the first player to score four goals in the first half of a match. His four-goal blitz, completed within 21 minutes, displayed his clinical finishing and composure under pressure, earning him a place in Premier League history.

Palmer’s other contributions included an assist in Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace and a goal in their 3-0 victory over West Ham United, further strengthening his case for the Player of the Month accolade.

This marks Palmer's second Player of the Month award, with his first coming in April 2024. His consistency is becoming increasingly evident, having claimed two of the last three available awards. Topping an eight-man shortlist after a public vote and expert panel decision, Palmer continues to shine on the Premier League stage.

Palmer’s stellar form has carried into October, with an assist in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest. He currently leads the Premier League with 11 goal involvements this season, positioning him as one of the league’s most exciting talents ahead of Chelsea's upcoming clash with Liverpool at Anfield on October 20.

In a celebratory post on X (formerly Twitter), Chelsea FC lauded their young star's achievement, writing, “It had to be him. Cole Palmer is the @PremierLeague Player of the Month for September.”
