Cowboys rout Mac Jones and the Patriots, cruising to a 38-3 victory.

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the New England Patriots 38-3 on Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas, thanks to defensive touchdowns by Leighton Vander Esch and DaRand Bland.
Dallas (3-1) also got touchdowns from CeeDee Lamb and Hunter Luepke. Their three victories have all been by 20 points or more. Dak Prescott threw for 261 yards and a touchdown on 28 of 34 attempts.
Mac Jones completed 12 of 21 passes for 150 yards and two interceptions for New England (1-3).Bailey Zappe took over for Jones late in the third quarter, completing 4 of 9 passes for 57 yards.
New England was outgained 377-253 by Dallas. The Cowboys had 22 first downs to the Patriots' 10 first downs.
The Cowboys didn't waste any time in setting the tone. They took a 10-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased their lead to 28-3 by halftime. Dallas' Brandon Aubrey opened the scoring with a 23-yard field goal. Chad Ryland's 29-yard field goal tied the game at 3-3.
Late in the first quarter, Dallas took the lead for good. Prescott completed a 10-play, 75-yard drive with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Lamb.
Early in the second quarter, the Cowboys' defense scored a touchdown to make the score 18-3. Dante Fowler, a defensive end, sacked Jones and forced a fumble, and Vander Esch recovered and ran 11 yards to the end zone for his first career touchdown. Dallas added a two-point conversionon a trick play in which punter Bryan Anger took the snap, pretended to hold it for the extra point attempt, and then lobbed a pass to defensive lineman Chauncey Golston.
With 4:03 remaining in the half, Aubrey hit another 23-yard field goal. Dallas showed off its defensive prowess once more, leading 28-3 with 54 seconds left in the half. Bland jumped in front of Jones' high pass and raced down the field for a 54-yard pick-6.
In the third quarter, Aubrey added a 33-yard field goal to make the score 31-3. With 6:38 remaining, Dallas closed out the scoringon Luepke's 3-yard rushing touchdown.
