Crvena Zvevda 5-1 VfB Stuttgart: Hosts hit five past Stuttgart to claim first Champions League win

Crvena zvezda achieved their inaugural victory in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) during the tournament's first league phase, delivering an impressive performance that allowed Vladan Milojevic’s team to triumph over Stuttgart with a score of 5-1.
Having suffered defeats in all four of their prior league phase matches, Crvena zvezda recognized the necessity of a strong start against their German opponents.
Nevertheless, it was Sebastian Hoenel’s squad that struck first, taking the lead within five minutes when Enzo Millot’s header was expertly converted by Ermedin Demirovic.
Unfazed, the home team quickly responded just seven minutes later, as Silas intercepted Millot in midfield, advanced to the edge of the penalty area, and executed a magnificent shot into the bottom corner.
The match maintained its fast-paced nature as the first half unfolded, and after Demirovic had a goal disallowed for offside, Crvena zvezda completed their comeback at the 30-minute mark.
Seol Young-woo delivered a threatening cross into the box, which found Rade Krunic, who took a moment to steady himself before delivering a powerful shot into the top of the net.
Eager to regain control of the match, Stuttgart intensified their efforts at the beginning of the second half, dominating possession in the attacking third.
However, Crvena zvezda remained a constant threat, nearly increasing their lead when Silas and Cherif Ndiaye squandered several excellent opportunities before the hour mark.
Persisting in their offensive efforts, Milojevic’s team finally netted their third goal in the 65th minute, with substitute Mirko Ivanic heading in from Timi Elsnik’s well-placed corner.
With the momentum firmly in their favor, the hosts secured their victory shortly thereafter, as Nemanja Radonjic finished off a superb counter-attack.
The goal decisively concluded the match as a competitive event, and Radonjic secured his second of the night with a precise low shot late in the game, allowing the hosts to achieve only their second victory in the last 15 matches following the qualifying rounds of the Champions League.
On the other hand, Stuttgart will be eager to recover against Young Boys on matchday six after suffering a second consecutive loss in the tournament.
