David Beckham urges Manchester United flops to prove they are 'motivated'

David Beckham, aged 49, has called on the underperforming players of Manchester United to demonstrate their dedication to the struggling club.

The former United star was present in Manchester on Thursday for the premiere of a documentary highlighting the club's triumphant 1999 treble-winning team.

Beckham played a pivotal role in the United squad that secured the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup titles under the guidance of the legendary Alex Ferguson.

His company, Studio 99, has contributed to the creation of '99', a three-part series set to launch on May 17th. Reflecting on the current state of affairs at Old Trafford, Beckham addressed the prevailing sense of disappointment.

United manager Erik ten Hag is currently fighting to retain his position, as the team languishes in eighth place in the Premier League following a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday.

Beckham believes that the players must shoulder their fair share of responsibility, stating, "You would expect the manager to not have to intervene much.

The essence of being a Manchester United player and participating in these significant matches is to be self-motivated." Ten Hag's challenging second season in charge could be redeemed if United triumph over their arch-rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Beckham hopes that the current squad can prove their worth to the club by delivering an outstanding performance at Wembley, seeking redemption for last season's loss to City in the final.

He emphasized, "As a professional footballer, when you are pursuing your passion and representing the club you adore, whether it is a regular season game or an FA Cup final against your rivals, that should be sufficient motivation."
